How it works:

By adjusting the amplitude of the RF/DC voltage, the four electrodes allow only ions with a specific mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) to pass stably through the electric field, and other ions are filtered out due to unstable motion trajectory. The operating modes are divided into: mass filtering, which selectively allows the target ions to pass through (e.g., SIM mode), and Full Scan, which continuously changes the electric field parameters.
